Jessica Chastain is turning the Olympics into a family affair.
After all, the Interstellar star stepped out at the gymnastics qualifiers at the Paris 2024 Olympics with an appearance alongside her children Giulietta, 6, and Augustus, 4—whom she shares with husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.
For the event—which saw Simone Biles lead Team USA to qualify first as a team—Jessica sported a Ralph Lauren American flag sweater, complete with Olympic rings and red slacks. Giulietta wore a rainbow T-shirt, but brought her team spirit through an elaborate red and blue star headband. As for Augustus, he copied his mom’s look with a blue American flag T-shirt and white pants.
The 47-year-old and her kids looked laser focused on the activities on the floor—but Jessica also could be seen explaining the events unfolding to Giulietta and Augustus, as well as celebrating with them from the stands.
And the family’s day out was extremely rare. In fact, Jessica is known to keep her personal life out of the public eye, only giving small updates on her family in the last few years.
“I'm not interested in the fame of being a personality,” Jessica explained to InStyle in 2014. “Some people are, and they love it, and that's great for them.”
Of course, Jessica has spoken intermittently about her children over the years, including noting what her daughter wishes to be when she grows up.
“I had a conversation with my daughter not that long ago,” she told Marie Claire in 2022. “And when you're talking to kids it's like, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ ‘I want to be a ballerina.’ And she was like, ‘I want to be a mama.’”
Jessica’s family outing at the Paris Olympics is exciting for fans, but she is far from the only star to support Team USA since the Opening Ceremony on July 26. Keep reading to see more celebrities who stepped out for the momentous occasion—from Zendaya to Tom Cruise.
